Seriously, with all the talk about the graphics in Guild Wars and how utterly spectacular they are, wtf is up with rune armor on the feet? I love my monk but those feet give me nightmares!
Its not like thy can't do this. if you look at the hands a lot of care and detail went into those fingers. Anyone who thinks otherwise has only to /point at something to see the detail, or drop your weapon outside of town.
A lot fo the face detail is spectacular, and the care to detail on armorsets is beautiful...until you put on the tats.
Then I find myself staring at those little fleshy webbed mutations and it starts to make my stomach sour.
Anet; give my favorite character some TOES! You can leave it alone for when people go naked, but when we put on the best armor in the game (for castors) I would like to see the same attention to detail that you placed into those Bloodstained Boots for my necro.
Please Anet. Please! this is not a foot fetish so don't flame. It's just freaky and wrong!
Anet! I WANT MY TOES!

They are ugly little blocks down there aren't they? They look worse than the feet in the Flinstones.

You see? Do you see Anet? I am not alone! Give us toes! And we know the truth now Anet: when that Warrior swings his hammer from 3 feet away, it’s not the whack that knocks us down. Its because we can’t stay upright!
And look at Gale. You had to nerf a skill because a stiff breeze was blowing us over. If nothing else, we need those toes for balance!
We want our does. We need our toes! We deserve our toes!
The great toes Revolt of 2006 has begun! Band with me brothers and sisters; you have nothing to lose but your cookies! We will not be ignored anymore!
Give me toes or give me Death!

Well, I have an anti-foot fetish... prefer the old lady to sleep in socks. But I digress, Guild Wars is one of the premier graphics games right now... or so they claim. It would not be hard to give the toes out to people. I think in the meantime I'll stick my toeless characters, and once the Toe Update comes out, I'll petition for SOCKS!

Well they have block feet to withstand the fire and lava of the fire isles, don't want little toes stretching from the feet to be burnt off.

I agree, I finally got to play a monk this weekend and noticed the lack of toes. She was "cute" till I saw her block feet.
Toes please.

I'm probably biased, coming from an animation background... but how often can you even see your toes while playing normally?
Why add in extra polys and possibly slow things down when you can't even see your feet 90% of the time? How many people in this thread had to stop and look at their monk's feet after reading this thread because they'd never noticed anything missing before?
If ANet left out toes, it was probably for a reason. Their artists know what they're doing and what their game engine is capable of handling. The high number of polys that would go into defining toes can and probably should go towards some other aspect of the visuals that is noticable.

I think Monks should have no toes, just stubs.

I know, it's extra polys, but I do notice the stubs. When my girlfriend dances in her druid's armor as her ranger, the lack of toes are a bit awkward.
They don't have to be that detailed. Just something to indicate that they do in fact have toes.

Could even just add a better texture with alpha channels for a huge improvement. Add some clipping to the sandal to give the illusion of a big toe. No more polys that way.
